Jazzy, thanks so much for this challenge! I love it!

This month I redid a special family photo. In the picture of my grandparents standing in front of their cake when they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, it always bothered me that the top of grandpa’s head was “chopped off”. My sister was baptized on the same day, so I have another picture of grandpa from that time, this time with his WHOLE head. Using various functions of GIMP (lasso, perspective, scale, levels, clone tool), I extracted the top of grandpa’s head from one photo and pasted it on the other. I think it is a big improvement. I had to reassure my son, “Yes, Grandpa’s hair really did look that way.”

I used Di’s latest kit, “The Love Journal”.

    I did this one ;-)

I ran a Gaussian blur on a copy of the photo-
erased the face so it only softened the background.
Ran a POP colour action and erased around the face again- lifting only the grass background colour.
    Sharpened and lifted the eyes.

Hi Jazzy! Beautiful posting bonus! Love those angels!

I played! I used a b&w action on the photo (by Alyson Comancho) then added a layer on top with a soft peachy color. I changed the blending style to soft light and changed opacity to 50%.

    Here’s my LO:

Hi, Jazzy — You can find my layout here — http://digiscrapobsession.net/pics/showphoto.php?photo=8734

I took the dodge tool and cleaned up the walls a bit (my kind of spring cleaning *LOL*). Next I use the spot healing tool and cleaned up some dribbles on Lily’s and some shiny spots/reflections on dad’s face. Then I used a color pop action called CoffeeShop Barrista by Rita which took my washed out photo and made the colors more real.

    Thanks,
    Lainey

I pass this poor sad windmill every week on my way to line dancing so decided to make a page for the poor thing,

Pretty basic altered back page – I had to just use the textures that are in the machine because I have not loaded any fiters or anything yet. I did add the white frames arond the photos LOL – does that count!!

Thanks for the challenge Jazzy and the lovely PB
