*We are pleased to announce that June the 1st, the entire DSO site will be down apart from the challenge blog and the store because we are having a complete rebuild and will be getting our forum back- WOOT!, but to do that means we have to clean out the whole gallery and old forum to start afresh with our new one. PLEASE make sure you backup your LO’s in the gallery as they will be gone once we start redoing the site

Kim, the first hex code isn’t right. When I click on the color, I get e2dcce in photoshop elements 8. That hex code comes up a pinkish red color. You might want to check it.

This is my first time taking part in the DSO challenge, and I’ve posted my addition on flickr & added it to the group.
I’ve just stuck with papers this time, I’ll have a go at some elements in next month’s challenge.

I have been buying so many on sale kits that I have several hundred and rarely use any. Have promised myself I won’t buy more. I try to keep the kits from different sites in a separate folder, but some go astray somehow.
Anyhow, I don’t see kits in this thread. Can I use my own and just color the pieces with these numbers?

@Deatles, Loved your kit! Thanks so much! If you have problems setting up the website, blogger has an export feature so you can create it in blogger and then export it, just that easy.
@those having problems with blogger, I use windows live writer to write my posts, loved it at first “sight”, couldn’t write an online post any longer, the live writer is simply too handy to set up posts, links, previews and such!

Hiya Kim..firstly..I tried to sign up for flicker and got totally lost..LOL. I have no idea if I am signed in there or not..but I deceided to upload to the old blog..that I remember how to do. I have just started as of yesterday to use my blogger account again…and didn’t seem to have any issues with it…so I am really not sure, but I didn’t have any issues with 4shared either…LOL..so maybe I just am out of the loop…Sorry your haveing issues with it.

@LynO, 4 shared making us wait so long seemed to just start yesterday. Wasn’t on Sunday, so I don’t know what was going on then. Some accounts on blogger work fine, others don’t. Many, many complaints on the blogger help site from all over.

I have downloaded from 4Shared for a number of years and have never had to wait 600 seconds. This just started last week. The files I am downloading are the same size I have always downloaded. Before last week the longest I had to wait was 60 seconds not 600 seconds. I am not the only person who is having this problem. I belong to several forums and others have noticed the same thing. Have you made changes?

There were some changes in our system. Waiting time now depends on the
size of the file and on the amount of files you are downloading per day.
As you all can see all they are doing is giving me the run around and not really answering my question so I am letting everyone know who uploads how difficult 4shared is making it for people to download their files. I think this is just a ploy to get people to purchase premium accounts. :=(

@Orlff, I got the same answer and went back and told them that was not an acceptable response as this just started a few days ago. The next response was that they will look into it and resolve it. I saved the email and will wait a week and if no change, will go back again. I hate run arounds. And did tell them it was an abuse of power. I also asked them why they offer the free service if they do this to people using it.

@Orlff, I agree! Noticed the same thing and thought it was just a problem for that weekend, but now I notice sometimes I get it in 20 seconds or so and other time 300 or more seconds! I lost a lot of my downloads because of it taking so long that the time limit expired! I am sure they just want everyone to purchase their upgrade!

Sometimes a photo isn’t the best quality (try to zoom in on a deer from about 100 feet away), but with the great kits that you creative designers make, I can try to make anything look fab!

Hi, 4 shared said the more you download the longer you will have to wait. They want you to pay for their service. I will just open 20 tabs if I have to. I have complained 3 times. I got some 600 seconds on Sunday too, now they around 300.

This is my opinion on 4share. I don’t have the energy to write 4share; but they started the long waiting periods as soon as they reworked their opening page with the new counter. The size of the dl has nothing to do with the waiting time. I have dl large kits & waited fewer seconds than for small kits. The number of dl probably does add time as they are trying to force more to buy premium accounts. But they don’t understand if we have to pay to dl kits given freely many on limited incomes will not be able to participate. Their trick that got me is: after being forced to wait twice, for more than 150 seconds, the dl was the internet shortcut sign to the link. I clicked the link & was forced to wait thru 2 180 second periods & I got the shortcut again. I tried this shortcut link and this time got my dl. This made 5 waiting periods’ total. Now that has nothing to do with anything except harassment. It seems 4share needs to make more money; however, if they make it so difficult to dl most of us will start backing off. If we do they cannot see that those paying to upload will have no reason to continue paying for their premium accounts. So where will that leave 4share.

I quite agree with you about 4shared. I was trying to download a set of alphas which had 6 downloads. It took me 3 days in the end. If the uploader is paying for a premium account then why should we have to wait such a long time to download!!!
Some of the sites I download from use mediafire but I find that I always get popups from them. Rapidshare is another one but you can only download one file at a time and then have to wait to download the next file.
Sorry to rant on like this but the download sites really bug me.

{our web host has strict rules about file hosting though, so no promises. BUT I will check into it for you guys.} 600 seconds is crazy, but I think all the filehosts either do timed waits or crazy popups. I’d rather wait my wait time then fight a bazillion pop ups. ~B
sooooo… what you guys are saying is – when I rebuild the forum next week you would really REALLY appreciate it, if I would look into installing some kind of “downloads” mod for you? LOL…

I have send prinscreens to 4Share over several days to show them the waitingtime as it begins with 360 seconds for the first dl. – ca. 6 MB – the next dl. about 7 MB the same, then I dl. about 29 MB – waitingtime 20 seconds, and I have just got this answer, when I asked them if they will change the wat. time:

I’m done early this month! Amazing what you can get done when you don’t have to work 40 – 60 hours a week. Being laid off sucks out loud for the most part, but it does make for lots more scrappin’ time!

Well, I created my layout using Greenfield Original’s amazing kit she created for this month’s colour challenge! Thank you for this amazing kit! And, then, I actually uploaded it to Flickr…I actually did it!! So, it’s on there, for anyone to see!!
I’m quite pleased with the results! and, hey, uploading it wasn’t as hard as what I thought it was going to be! Thanks for a great challenge, once again, Kim! And, thank you, Greenfield Originals…for a fabulous kit! Love it!!!

First off, all the mini kits are fabulous. Secondly re 4shared, like others I was also having to click the download button multiple times before the download worked (for huge waiting periods on each one), till I realised in the address box up the top, when the link didnt work properly, at the end of the address, there is a ?with an error message after the address. So I just delete everything after and including the question mark, click out of it, and then click the green ‘go’ button and then it seems to work. I think it must be an error with their system causing the download link not to be working correctly.

If 4shared can play tricks on downloaders then downloaders will just have to play them back….just clear 4shared stuff from your browsers cookie folder and go try to download again. I use the fire fox browser so I just go to Tools on the menu, select options, go to the Privacy tab, click on the Show cookies button and remove 4shared and anything that has dc### on it. And look for and stat cookie too as they use to throw that one in too but I haven’t seen it in the last week so they might have stopped throwing us that biscuit LOL.

@PatM, if you have IE, go to Tools, then go to general, click settings in browse history then click view files. A lot of the 4shared cookies with start with your account name, but there are still others scattered throughout you cookies list.

Thanks to the designers whose kits I used!
I also want to share my two cents about 4shared. It seems that someone there actually thought 600 seconds was 5 minutes and not 10, so that has improved after all the complaints, but 300 seconds is still too long. Their system for keeping track of downloads per 24h period is very defective. If you don’t mind using multiple browsers, you can get a fresh start in each one since the cookies are stored in different locations. (I use 4 different ones.) Also, when the download countdown restarts for me, it’s usually because I tried to download 2 files at once (which didn’t used to matter). They have a new file saved on your hard drive that helps them keep track of stuff, so if you make sure to delete that, it might help (but not 100% guaranteed). Just search your cache for 4shared and delete all those cookies and files. (I actually keep the main cookie without dc in front of it, because it has my auto login data in it so I can comment.) Good luck to everyone!
It’s funny because it’s such a relief now when someone uses mediafire, boxnet, sendshare, skydrive, etc. instead of 4shared. Rapidshare (LONG wait–like 20 minutes–after the first DL with a normal wait time) and megaupload (type code, wait, icky ads) are my least favorites.

Mo – you left me a comment about the large number of small zips – the store I sell in, and all the stores I CT for have a rule: no zips over 30MB in consideration of those using dial up because dial-up times out mid-download & you get nothing. I’ve let an item on my blog to try to find out how many are using high speed vs dial-up.

Sankt Hans Aften means Midsummer Eve, and in this part of the world – Denmark – it means too that the days will be shorter day by day untill 21 December, where it turned again and the days got longer for each day.
Sankt Hans aften there are bonfire with a witch on the top – look to the right and you can see something red – all over the country and the witches are send off to Bloksbjerg in Harzen, Germany, where all witches are gathered to blow the winter away.
The eveaning has a lot of myth, which goes several hundred of years back.
If you gather medicinal herbs by midnight the power is is much stronger than
normal – and a lot of other things!
There are always a lot of people to see it, and as we leve near fjorden, a lot of boats from small fisherboats to big yachts on the water.
Both photos are taking at 9 PM.
